The Weblog

The Online Market is open for ordering from 8 AM Wednesday till 8 PM on Thursday.
Spring time is upon us again. The planting of vegetables and flowers is in full spead as we work to provide an aboundance of fresh new products. Please feel free to make your selections from the great products available this week.

Remember the New Customer Referral Program
From March 20 through June 30

How it Works
1. Tell a friend about the CUMMING HARVEST farmers market.
2. Have them register at cumming.locallygrown.net. (the market managers will contact all new customers to ask who referred them)
3. After their third purchase (3 different weeks), your credit will be applied to your account.
Thank you for sharing your love of healthy food and for helping to support our local growers!

Market News

Welcome, 5 Lights Farm to the market. Devin Wright and his family own some property here in Cumming where they raise chickens and have a small herd of Angus cows. The chickens have a spacious coop that opens onto a grassy area full of muscadines, figs, blueberry and blackberry bushes. The chickens are able to forage throughout the day eating dropped fruit, bugs and grass making for some really good eggs.

RAW MILK Order today and Monday. Sam will deliver all Wednesday and Saturday milk orders on Wednesday.

Note: All Raw Milk Products are labeled “For Pet Consumption Only”. This is in accordance with the regulations of the Department of Agriculture for the State of Georgia. This is the only way Raw Milk can legally be sold in the state of Georgia.

Sam sells milk in 1/2 gallon jugs for $4.40 each.
*If you would like your milk in glass, I have ordered cases of Ball Mason jars from Ingles, they will be for sale at the market on Wednesday for $12/case. You will need to purchase a box of plastic Ball lids. Milk in glass will be $3.30 each 1/2 gallon. If you purchase one 1/2 gallon per week, you will need 6 jars with metal flat lid and plastic screw lid (plastic doesn’t rust). Once you have turned in your glass jars, I will pass them on to Sam to receive milk in glass the following week. *

NEW TO THE MARKET?
Here’s some tips to help you have the best experience when ordering online.
1. ORDER EARLY (Don’t wait for this email to place your order!!)
2. COMPLETE YOUR ORDER…you can lose an item in your cart if someone else orders and completes the order ahead of you.
3. LOOK FOR A CONFIRMATION EMAIL…if you don’t receive an email showing your completed order, your order was not placed and you’ll need to place it again.
4. MULTIPLE ORDERS…placing multiple orders aren’t a problem, they will be grouped together on our order form with one total.
5. ARRIVE EARLY TO PICK UP…We usually have extras from various farmers/vendors and maybe a Farmer of the Day. Arrive at 10am for a better selection and less wait time.
6. BRING GROCERY BAGS…Don’t forget to bring your reusable grocery bags to pack your order.
7. EMAIL THE GROWER…each farmer lists their own products and tries to make the listings as clear as possible so that you know what you are buying, but sometimes it may need more explanation. You are buying directly from the farmer/vendor and they are more than happy to speak to you to answer any questions.
