Spring time is upon us again. The planting of vegetables and flowers is in full spead as we work to provide an aboundance of fresh new products. Please feel free to make your selections from the great products available this week.

Remember the New Customer Referral Program
From March 20 through June 30

How it Works
1. Tell a friend about the CUMMING HARVEST farmers market.
2. Have them register at cumming.locallygrown.net. (the market managers will contact all new customers to ask who referred them)
3. After their third purchase (3 different weeks), your credit will be applied to your account.
Thank you for sharing your love of healthy food and for helping to support our local growers!

This Week at The Cumming Harvest

This Week

Growers are finishing up harvesting summer crops and about to if they haven’t already, planted their fall crops. Look for beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, collards, lettuce, kale, mustard, radishes, spinach and turnips coming soon.

The Market is Moving
For 5 years we have been able to operate out of locations given to us by a very generous couple (also customers) of the market, Stan and Carla Rutledge. We moved into our current location with hopes of staying for a while but unfortunately the space is needed for another use. Stan and Carla were willing to find another spot for us (like I said they are so over-the-top generous and kind) but we decided they had given so much for so long, it was best if we found another location that could possibly grow into more of a community benefit. I’ve always hoped this market would evolve into a community ministry where everyone felt comfortable and able to purchase from our growers, learn to grow their own food, learn how to prepare locally grown meals and a market that was well known as a place for convenient access to our local farmers. I think we found a location that just might make this happen.

We’re happy to announce that we’ve been invited to use a building at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit is a sister church of St. Philips Cathedral who hosts the Peachtree Road Farmers Market a producer only market of only organically growing farmers, very much like us.

Holy Spirit currently has a nonfood pantry that operates once a month, plans to build an organically grown garden that will supply food to the pantry and best of all…it’s convenient to 400, has lots of parking and is perfect for an outdoor farmers market event.

In the mean time, we’ll be operating out of our current location at Enterprise Drive until mid-October, the tentative move date is Oct 22nd, but I’ll have more details to come later.
