The Weblog

The Online Market is open for ordering from 8 AM Wednesday till 8 PM on Thursday.
Spring time is upon us again. The planting of vegetables and flowers is in full spead as we work to provide an aboundance of fresh new products. Please feel free to make your selections from the great products available this week.

Remember the New Customer Referral Program
From March 20 through June 30

How it Works
1. Tell a friend about the CUMMING HARVEST farmers market.
2. Have them register at cumming.locallygrown.net. (the market managers will contact all new customers to ask who referred them)
3. After their third purchase (3 different weeks), your credit will be applied to your account.
Thank you for sharing your love of healthy food and for helping to support our local growers!

Market News

I guess our crazy winter/spring weather has calmed and now straight into summer. I tied string yesterday to hold up my tomato plants and could barely stand the heat.

NEED GARDEN SPACE? Steve McBrayer, a local resident in Cumming, has about 1 acre of land he’d like to have farmed with organic veggies. It is at the Forsyth/Cherokee line on Franklin Goldmine Road. There is a well on the property that needs some maintenance. He’s flexible and reasonable and open to any offers/ideas, he just wants a percentage of the harvest for his family. If you are interested or know anyone that may be, you can contact him at mcbrayersteve@bellsouth.net.

RAW GOAT’s MILK I’ve had a couple of people request raw goats milk, if you are interested in purchasing goat’s milk at TCH send me an email and I’ll work on getting it.

AMESTOY FARM Ben Amestoy is in the first year of production and growing many different varieties of vegetables, some herbs, berries, fruits and also a limited amount of pastured eggs. He practices cover cropping, crop rotation, composting and grows without using any synthetic herbicides or pesticides. Amestoy Farm is Certified Naturally Grown. Look for lettuce, kale, broccoli, collards, and radishes from Amestoy Farm coming soon, maybe even later today or tomorrow.

Questions?: Please feel free to contact the farmers directly, they are available to answer your questions and concerns. If you have questions about the market, I am always available. If you don’t know who to ask, email us both. :)
