Watsonia Farms

STRAWBERRIES!!
If you missed it last week, you’re in luck, we have lots more strawberries this week! It looks to be a good year for strawberries so take advantage of this opportunity to buy local, organic/CNG berries and stock up. Strawberries freeze well and can be used in fruit smoothies and to sweeten up green drinks. The green tops are edible so no need to remove them before freezing – just wash, let dry and freeze.

Our growers here in Cumming, M.J. Fruit & Veg and BeeBerry Farms are both offering fresh, local strawberries this week. They are offering 1/2 pounds and pints.

Mary Toombs of M.J. Fruit & Veg invite you to visit the farm, she has strawberries and produce for sale at her farm stand throughout the summer. They are located at 5205 Shadburn Rd., Cumming, GA, right off of 400. We’re open when my signs are up. If I’m not out front reading a book or waving, I’m in the garden. Honk if you can’t find me.

And from South Carolina, strawberries from Watsonia farms. Watsonia is a larger, organic producer. They are offering berries by the quart and by the gallon. The more you buy the more you save.

Try this yummy smoothie:
2 cups strawberries
2 cup coconut milk
1/2 cup coconut Kefir or plain yogurt (optional)
1 cup ice
1 T flax or chia seed
2 T walnuts
Blend together in high powered blender for 1 to 2 minutes.

RAW Milk – Heritage farms is now offering 1/2 gallons of raw milk for $5 (for pet consumption)
Cultured Traditions has Sauerkraut on sale this week…
Curtido sauerkraut – normally $10, on sale for $5!
