Happy Independence Day! I hope you all had a great 4th!
Culured Traditions is introducing a new product to the market called, Russian Dumplings. I’m excited to try these since they are similar to potstickers, which I love.
They also have a special on Dill Pickle Spears, only $6 for 32 oz.!
Check out this Awesome Sauce – Cultured Traditions made awesome Kimchi and had lots of beautiful brine left after packaging. It is a thick, spicy and very flavorful brine that still has chunks of napa cabbage in it! It is absolutely delicious on rice, meats, eggs and just as a dipping sauce. It is also a wonderful soup base. Just like our Kimchi the sauce is living and vibrant, full of naturally occurring probiotics, never heated, and as with all of our ferments, its flavor continues to evolve with time. TODAY is the first official day of Summer! Looks like it’ll be a beautiful start to it too, weather-wise. The days won’t get too hot, and we’ll be getting plenty of rain. The summer veggies love this weather and even the leafy greens are able to keep on producing.
THANK A FARMER! Every week, as we greet farmers for their deliveries we are interested to hear their interesting farm stories. Mike’s Melody Garden tells us about the dear that love to visit his garden, he’s not too happy about them and is in a constant battle to encourage them away from laying in his corn stalks. Weedy Soil Farm has stories about her farm cat and how she loves to cuddle and how growing under a hoop house is going. These two are just examples of conversations we have and how easy it is for us to know how all these farmers we work with LOVE what they do! The work is hard and frustrating but it is very rewarding and we are able to benefit, THANKS TO THEM! Feel free to email the farmers to thank them for what they do for us and encourage them to continue. I know they would say THANK YOU to you as well because they couldn’t continue without your support.

Whether you just want to see how it’s done, want to incorporate some of the practices into your own garden or just want a nice “back to the earth” outing with the kids(or grandkids)this might be your (free) ticket. Leilani’s Farm is hosting a Farm Tour on Saturday June 17th at 10:00 am. Stroll around the greenhouse, our 3 cold frames, see all the raised beds and the back-acre field. Hear short presentations on how we prepare soil, plant, operate, ask questions and enjoy refreshments. Lots of just picked Produce will be available for sale. All it takes is an RSVP to this site or to leilani1959@windstream.net and let us know how many are coming."

WELCOME GRACE ACRES FARM! Delicious Raw Jersey Cow Milk from a small family farm here in North Georgia only 30 miles from the market. I went to visit the farm on Tuesday and got to see lots of beautiful green pasture where Noel and Pearl love to graze. Grace Acres Farm on Facebook
My Daily Bread has all their jams and jelly on sale $1 off this week! They will be off the market next week so plan ahead and order what you need. Their breads freeze very well.
Ancient Awakenings last week I mentioned a revised schedule for Ancient Awakenings, but they will actually stay on their normal every other week schedule. They were online last week and will be online June 14th and 28th.
